One of the greatest gifts we can give our kids (and others) is observing us as intentional learners – to observe our learning, growth, and evolution 🌀
They learn what it means and how it feels to be a learner.
When they see our imperfections and mistakes, or notice us experimenting with strategies, or hear us talk about our limitations and fixed mindset, they learn that it’s safe to take off the armor.
When they see us free ourselves every day from old patterns, undesired habits, unrealistic expectations, or unhealthy social norms and stereotypes, they learn the art of liberation.
They learn freedom and security. 🙌
And that happens when we are willing to be Learners First.
When we are willing to learn from a place of genuine curiosity and not because we have to or because we want to feel worthy enough.
Learner first is the second guiding principle at Becoming Lab, following educate by example.
I’m inviting you into a world filled with possibilities.
A world in which ‘not good enough’ doesn’t exist. Because it’s irrelevant. Our brain is capable of change and this fact counters the idea of ‘good enough’, perfection, or any other limiting concept.
Becoming Lab is dedicated to *developing* our potential as growth mindset role models at home.
And it starts by becoming learners first: by learning how to learn and how to develop our abilities, by understanding our needs as learners, and understanding the conditions in which our learning is optimal.
What do you think? Are you willing to be a learner who raises learners? 🌱
